Matthew Pearce Public School is sitting upon a very
important piece of history. Matthew Pearce was one of the first settlers
in the area and our school is built on part of his property.
The School has four sporting houses that have been named after Pearce Family properties, Amisfield, Stanhope, Wooragee and Eastbourne.
Matthew Pearce Public School was opened in 1982, with most students who joined our school coming in from local area schools. One of those schools, Jasper Road Public School provided support through fundraising and administration, allowing our school to make an important start in public education.
